“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.”
-Henry David Thoreau
This is a short quote but it has a big meaning behind it. What this quote means is that if you invest in goodness you will never fail. Some examples of goodness are being honest, not cheating, working well with others, and helping those that are in need. Goodness is something that can’t fail. People choose the right because it makes them feel good. People don’t choose the right for rewards. Goodness is something that when you invest into it, you can’t fail. Investing in goodness shows what type of person you are and it also shows how good of a person you are. Investing in goodness is choosing the right. Choosing the right always has positive outcomes even if people don’t agree that it was the right thing to do. Overall, I agree with what this quote has to say. Investing in goodness will result in happiness because it makes you feel good and also because never fails.
