“A promise must never be broken.”
-Alexander Hamilton
This is a really short quote but it has a huge meaning behind it. What this quote means is that when you make a promise you should never break it. You made the promise for a reason. Breaking a promise is choosing the wrong. Keeping your promise is choosing the right. If you can’t keep your promises then don’t make promises. An example of a promise is asking your parents if you can go out and them asking you to be back for a certain time. You reply and say I promise i’ll be back by 10:30. That is what a promise is. Breaking your promises shows other people the type of person you are. It shows that you don’t care about others and think for yourself. You should only make promises if you know that you can keep them. Making false promises shows that you are a bad person. A good person wouldn’t make a promise unless if he/she knows that they can keep the promise they made. Overall, I agree with this quote, a promise must always be kept and must never be broken. Always keep your promises and make promises if you know you can keep your promises. If you can’t keep your promises than don’t make any promises.
