Neonatologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Specializes in treating newborn infants

·         Treat infants with birth defects

·         Planning treatments before the baby is born

·         Taking care of new born babies

·         Handling birth defects such as heart defects or brain malformations

·         Consulting and referring patients to surgeons

·         Prescribing medicine

·         Provide long term care to premature babies

·         Assist in delivering babies

·         Inform parents of infants health conditions and treatments that are available

Salary: $225,000 - $250,000

Educational Requirements: Doctoral Degree with special training in pediatrics and neonatology and completing medical school

Reflection: I would not like to become a neonatologist because the job doesn’t interest me.
