Wellness Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Main focus is educating others
  • Job duties depend on the employer
  • Educate the public on how to improve the daily choices they make
  • Help prevent illnesses
  • Provides client with up-to-date information on diet, exercise and health
  • Meeting with clients
  • Determining their health goals and helping them achieve their goals
  • Manage programs related to health for companies and/or individuals
  • Be able to locate medical services and health resources
  • Creates educational material and collects data based on their clients
  • Teach people about behaviors that can help promote wellness
  • Discuss health concerns with certain people in communities
  • Teach people how to manage any conditions they may have
  • Evaluate how effective programs that have been created are
  • Report their findings to healthcare providers
  • Provide training programs for health professionals
Salary:  $43,840 per year
Educational Requirements: Minimum requirement in this field is a bachelor’s degree in health education, certification is also needed, become certified by passing an exam, in order to keep your certification you must complete 75 hours of education every 5 years

Demand for this profession: The demand for this profession is about 13% from 2014 to 2024 which is faster than average
Reflection: I would not like to become a wellness specialist because I don’t think I would be able to teach others about health.
