Psychologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Vary according to specialty
• Conduct studies of behavior and brain function
• Collect information through things such as surveys and/or observations
• Research and identify problems with emotion and/or behavior
• Many different types of psychologists that include health, counseling, developmental, neuropsychology, forensic, social, and school psychologists
• Monitor patient progress
• Developing treatment plans with patient
• Promote positive behavior
• Assist in diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases
• Work with people of all ages to help them overcome their mental illnesses
• Collaborating with other health professionals
• Developing programs
• Offering therapy to those who need it
• Evaluate how effective treatment and/or counseling will be
• Maintain knowledge

Salary: $69,280 per year

Educational Requirements:  Master’s or Doctoral Degree and a license or certification

Reflection: I would not like to become a psychologist because the job doesn’t interest me and also because they do not make that much money.
