Obstetrician
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide care for women who are pregnant
  • Monitoring growth health of Fetus
  • Deliver babies
  • Examine patients
  • Care for the mother after the baby is born
  • Monitor condition of both the mother and child
  • Collect and maintain patient information
  • Treat diseases
  • Refer patient to other specialists
  • Analyze information about patient to diagnose medical conditions
  • Conduct research to develop treatments
  • Speak with patients about diets
  • Implement or administer programs in hospitals
  • Perform surgery or other procedures in order to preserve patients health and deliver babies safely with no problems
Salary: $225,441-$312,732
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, Medical School, Obtain Medical license, Residency, and become Board Certified
Job Outlook: 24% from 2010 to 2020 which is much faster than average

Reflection: I would not like to become an Obstetrician because the job doesn’t interest me.
