“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound” (not good)
-Joseph Smith

This is a long quote that also has a big meaning behind it. It means that we should make things that are right popular and make things that are wrong unpopular. An example of this is not cheating on a test, playing by the rules, being honest, respecting other people and their property, and not lying. Making things that are right popular is something that would help society. Making things such as drugs unpopular would also help. People who choose the right do the right thing even if everyone is against it. Choosing the right makes you a better person and it also shows what kind of person you are. Things that are popular influence a lot of people’s decisions. Choosing the right should be popular so that people are influenced to do the right thing. Even if doing the right isn’t popular you should still do the right thing. Choosing the wrong shows that you are someone who is lazy and selfish. People who choose the right are those that like to help the people around them and also strive to accomplish their goals. Overall, I agree with what this quote says because popular things should be sound and good while things that are bad should be made unpopular. Making things popular can have a big influence on what others think. People don’t like to be in the minority so some follow what’s popular. If choosing the right was popular more people would choose the right.
