Orthodontist

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Diagnose abnormalities in teeth or jaw.

·         Provide patients with treatment plans

·         Design appliances that can be used as treatments such as space maintainers or retainers

·         Administer treatments

·         Study diagnostic records like X-Rays

·         Adjust dental appliances

·         Coordinate services with other dental and medical services

·         Responsible for removing appliances after treatment has been completed

Salary: $206,190

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, No specific major needed to become an orthodontist, Go to Dental School and pass the DAT (Dental Acceptance Test) and obtain letters of recommendations, and complete an orthodontist residency program in 2 years. 

Reflection: I would not like to become an orthodontist because the job doesn’t interest me. I’m not interested in becoming a dentist or anyone that works with teeth.
