It means that when people remember your name they shouldn't think of you as a bad person. Instead they should think about you as a good person. An example of this is Coach K, people not only know him to be a good coach they also no him to be a good person. Another example is Lance Armstrong, when people hear his name they think of him as a bad person because he cheated. Some ways you can have a good name are by choosing the right and being obedient. Some ways you can have a bad name are by choosing the wrong and by not being obedient. Overall, I agree with what this quote is saying. It's better if you become a good name (so that people don't remember you as a bad person) first then anything you want to achieve in life because if you don't have a good name people won't remember what you have achieved. Instead they will remember how bad of a person you were if you have a bad name.
